Felton Eugene King was the first born child to the late Bishop Felton and Mother Lorene King. He was a proper child and brought joy to the household of the King family. No more were Felton and Lorene alone, there was someone to share their lives and to date on. Being the son or a Pastor gave Felton the foundation he needed to grow into a fine young man.

Felton grew up in the church. He did his homework on the pews and was able to add a little basketball playing in the whole scenario. He was very studious and always found something to do to make some money.  He helped his father with his cotton contracting business and helped his mother  on the lunch wagon as she fed the workers in the field s. He learned his business skills by watching his dad run his cotton business and manage all the workers.  Felton brought a small truck and started his watermelon sellingbusiness, allowing his younger sister to drive the truck as he hung on the back fender of the truck yelling, "Watermelons", through the neighborhood. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School.
