The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship and provide an avenue through which individuals may share their gift and be an integral part of the worship. The Music Ministry spreads the Word of God through music experiences.

In he Sunshine Band is an auxiliary of the Women's Department of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. It was organized by the founder Bishop Charles H. Mason in 1911 for the purpose of ministering to and nurturing our children 12 under.
The primary focus of the Sunshine Band is to reach out to our children, and offer
an opportunity for them to receive salvation in their productive years. Through meaningful and wholesome activities such as music, bible study, drama, arts, and crafts, field trips, and special worship services, retreats and workshops; our children can be instructed in the way God wants them to go. We desire to build a partnership between the home, the school and the church in order to provide a spiritual foundation for each child. The Sunshine Band teaches children about God; the love of God and God's Son Jesus; basic Bible concepts and knowledge; the ins and out of minstry servng; scriptures that provide a foundation for understanding, faith, love, grace, salvation and practical precepts for living holy and productive lives. Through the Sunshine Band children have the opportunity to learn, lead, follow, teach, explore, display their talents, develop and grow under the prayerful leadership of local volunteers. Activities are planned for each age group according to their physical, social, emotional and spiritual maturity. Our main endeavor is to "Bring Them In" from all walks of life to a victorious walk in Christ.

When a celebration for an anniversary or a wake for a death is necessary, the ministry does all the work to keep the organization of the event. If the pastor is preaching at a different church, some members of the ministry will be there to support him. Their basic goal is to create unity between the pastor, his family, the congregation and the community where they pray together. The pastor's aid aim is to build a stronger congregation that helps whenever possible.

The pastor's aid ministry supports the pastor financially, spiritually and morally. The aid ministry shows love, support, encouragement, strength and service to the pastor and his family. If the church is having financial difficulties, the ministry will have a fundraiser to provide for the needs of the.congregation. Among its duties, the aid ministry may make home visits to new members of the congregation.

The Deacon Board is responsible for collecting the gifts of the congregation and for distributing them to those in need. In recent months there has been a significant increase in the number of requests for assistance and we pray that the congregation will continue to support this ministry through the special deacon's offerings taken each communion service. In addition, the deacons facilitate the ministry of the church by maintaining the buildings and grounds, ushering, managing the sound room, recording the gifts of the congregation, and other tasks that are intended to free the elders to pursue prayer and the ministry of the word. Finally, it is our desire to encourage others in the church to use their talents and gifts to serve the Lord together with us.
